So it’s been a while. I think this is the longest I’ve gone without writing a blog entry, about 2 weeks now. It’s a dangerous thing since I haven’t been writing here for that long. It’s all too easy to forget about blogging when it has not yet become routine. And that is why I wanted to fire off a quick entry – to remind myself that you’re still here… Or is it to remind you that I’m still here, seeking your approval :) You are still here, aren’t you? Hello?
I suppose I owe you an explanation? Well it’s not that I’ve been avoiding you. Nor have I been avoiding the computer, rather the opposite in fact. I have recently become addicted to Flickr. Remember how I told you about my Project 365? Well it’s sucked me in with a vengeance. I’ve been taking pictures like a fiend and loving it. I’m so addicted to both Flickr and photography that it takes up most of my online and free time these days. I am even getting a new lens for my upcoming birthday from the husband. Woohoo! (I’ll be sure to update you all as you wait with baited breath for the receiving of said gift… oh wait, maybe that’s just me waiting in cruel anitipation for my new toy)
I have to say I’m impressed that, despite my lack of postings, I’ve been consistently getting a few hits per day from random sources. I hope you guys find what you’re looking for here…
There are two posts that consistently bring in visitors to this site. My post about gardening is one entry that brings the odd visitor, but most people come here linking to my post about the Adirondacks. Apparently there are a lot of people out there looking to do a weekend hike in the Adirondacks. Which is great, I’d highly recommend it!
As for my gardening post, most people get to that one by searching something along the lines of “bubble gum smelling” something or other. There are a lot of people out there looking for plants, trees, and the like that smell like bubble gum. How odd. Oh, and in case you’ve been held on the edge of your seat, I found out what those “bubble gum smelling” flowers are called: Sweet Williams. I should also disclose that they’re thoroughly dead. I really mangled them putting them in the ground so I wasn’t expecting much. They persevered despite my efforts, but just recently they lost their fight and succumbed to death. I’m considering taking them out and planting some shady bushes there instead. We’ll see… On the other hand, my hydrangea is growing nicely. There aren’t any flowers yet, but I’m still holding out hope.
Anyways, I’ll wrap this up with the promise of another topic-specific blog in the not so distant future. I have a couple ideas on my plate, I just need to pry myself away from Flickr long enough to write something. Oh and speaking of, check out my entire photostream and let me know what you think.
Talk to you later…
