The Best Place on Earth (…OK, maybe in Canada?)

Well it’s been about 2 weeks since I got home from Tobermory, and here I am, finally writing about it. (Before I begin, if you’ve never heard of Tobermory before and want to know what I’m talking about, check here).
I should mention that before we could get on with our vacation, on Thursday night we had to drop the dogs off at my parents (i.e. G&G’s Camp D.O.G.) and then for some bizarre reason we returned home and I shampooed the carpets. I went to bed that night about ready to die. Instead, I had a great sleep knowing that I would be waking up to vacation day. But I digress…
So we skipped out of work early on the Friday and ended up starting our drive around 2:30pm. The drive was uneventful and traffic was pretty light. We got there in time to go out for fish & chips for our first meal. Tobermory has about 5 different F&C places to choose from, most of them pretty awesome, so lets say we ate fish a few times that week. And we even had absolutely delicious trout thanks to the guys… best fish all week! Way to go KG!
We couldn’t have asked for better weather for the most part. While it was rainy and cloudy at home, it was low to mid 20s and beautifully sunny there. We had to leave on the Friday to get to a wedding on the Saturday, but as we left, the skies were turning dark and it apparently rained most of the rest of the weekend. Tobermory was mourning our loss.
For the most part, we sat around and swam around, went into town for a little food, some frozen yogurt and shopping, played silly games, and reconnected with ourselves and each other. I wish there was some zainy stories I could tell you, but really it was just a wonderful and relaxing time with some great people. Hopefully this will become a yearly tradition, whether it continues in Tobermory or not.
I guess one of the only stories fit for print would be little Chippy. Chippy was a chipmunk that was very smart, and as a result, will either become very fat or very well fed over winter. Over the course of the week he managed to get almost an entire bag of shelled peanuts from us, and even some trailmix once we ran out of peanuts. He became pretty friendly and was easily coaxed on top of MJ to receive his peanuts. At one point, I was sitting on the deck feeding him a nut and he ran up my leg to my knee like I was a tree. His little claws felt like sticky grips. Pretty cute.
So in the absence of hilarious stories (at least ones that I can tell) I will instead offer up some pictures.
^^ It’s Chippy!!
^^ My atttempt at star trails. Pretty happy with it.
^^ Crazy fog that suddenly rolled in.
^^ Our last day :(
In conclusion, Tobermory is awesome… But don’t go, it’s busy enough :P
Oh, and sorry about tailing off on the blog. I guess I’ve lost quite a few readers since I suck at keeping track of this thing. Life has been pretty uneventful recently so I feel like I haven’t had much writing inspiration. But I’ll try :)

Beautiful shots keep it up
